Of the 57 miles we rode today, 51 were on the Virginia Capital Trail that extends from Jamestown to Richmond. It was completed on 2015 and is absolutely wonderful!
Our first stop on the trail was as at Spoke & Art Provisions Co. We found out the owner is British and at 9:00 had a crowd of people on the large back patio watching the coronation of King Charles III. We sipped our fresh brewed coffees and snacked on a breakfast pastry while watching the televised pomp and circumstance.
They had a cool and colorful bottle structure worth photographing.
The trail had mile markers for each mile and many historical markers along the way. We were so impressed that this trail was separate from cars and was extremely well maintained.
At 11:11 we were at a “rest stop” on the trail.
There were a few places for fun photo opportunities.
Coming into the city the terrain had more rollers; the ups certainly took effort and the descents were very enjoyable.
There was a lot to check out in Richmond. We started with the Capital Ale House .
After a flight and a shared appetizer we headed to the real Capital building and jumped in in a tour. The statue of Washington is from 1788 and is said to be one of the most accurate depictions of him.
There is so many interesting sculptures, architecture and historical information throughout Richmond.

We were lucky enough to happen upon the ¿Qué Pasa? Festival on Brown’s Island. There was Latin music, dancers, vendors and lots of festival goers enjoying the perfect weather.
To get to our final stop of the evening we crossed the Potterfield Memorial pedestrian Bridge. Busy bridge with great views.
Our dinner destination was Legend Brewing Company. They have been around for 29 years and have some mighty fine brews.
Hey guys. Steve here. You guys will be experts on East Coast beer by the time you get home. Lol.
