5/8/23 Fredericksburg to Alexandria, VA

Another beautiful day! The roads were busier, the hills more challenging, and the route into Alexandria included roadwork, but the weather was great, the roads still pretty impressive and we have a great hotel room  along the waterfront  of the historic district. Life is good!

As we were leaving Fredericksburg this mural caught our eye.

11:11 shot of the day.

Random shots in route.

After checking into the hotel in Alexandria, Tim made a beeline to the closest bike shop. Upon requiring the lowest gears, he discovered his gears were not working properly and his brakes needed help. Bennett, a very experienced worldwide cycle tourist and current magnificant mechanic at Big Wheel Bikes knew just how to finesse Tim’s  24 year old bike to good working order.

Exploring the riverfront of the Potomac and the very bustling King Street in Alexandria was fun.
The Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum is an 18th century pharmacy operated by the same family for 141 years until 1933.

It was fun sharing a small plate here and there to experience several restaurants.

Photo opportunities

We found live music at the Irish Pub.  While sitting at the bar we had fun chatting with the locals and listening Irish music.

Today’s mileage 57 climbing 2850. 😁
