Day 3 - St. Francisville, LA

Again today the forecast was for afternoon thunder storms, so we got off to an early start. The first 12 miles were busy and not so scenic; about 8 miles of that stretch was along side Exxon Mobile refineries.

Once on the somewhat quieter roads, we went through some side streets and noticed roads with names like "Fairway", "Eagle", "Green" and "Par". We figured that we had time to play 9 holes without concerning ourselves with the afternoon storms. Our golf game was not impressive, but we certainly had fun trying.

After, the locals at the Fennwood Hills pro shop swapped stories with us. Fun folks.

The most of rest of todays ride into St. Francisville, LA was lush green and included some very appreciated shade trees.

We got to the St. Francisville Inn around 2:30.

The pool was calling our name, and we enjoyed the cool-off.

A quick clean-up then off to look for an early dinner since we didn't have lunch. Unfortunately, the various restaurants in this small town were either not open on Wednesdays or simply shut down. We didn't want to get back on our bikes due to the pending storm. Finally, we found food in a butcher shop that would be sufficient to call dinner.

The storm is now here....the wind and thunder is making things interesting, but so far no rain.

BTW- today is the 21st day of above average temps for this area!
