Google map, iPhone map, East Coast Greenway map and Gaia GPS map all are useful tools as we are finding the best route. Sometimes though, we have been sent to a crummy single track trail along a canal or through sketchy areas that did not feel safe. Given those past experiences, we are always a little apprehensive about paths that are not well identified. Today we were sent to a absolutely fantastic path with lots of gorgeous trees and well built bridges.
The Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail is a network of more than 500 premier wildlife viewing sites across the state. We have been seeing signage everyday along the roads to indicating another viewing site.
We’ve witnessed several birds that are not seen in California, and some varieties that are extremely similar. Here is a Great Blue Heron we saw near the trail.

We are very close to Cape Canaveral, but Tim satisfied his space interest with the displays at our local hotel.
Today was day 8 of riding… aka - laundry day. We each have 4 pair of cycling shorts, so every fourth riding day is also laundry day. Total distance was 47 miles, easterly winds 16-20 mph and only a few sprinkles.
