Great start to a great day visiting the local farmers market, just a 5 min walk from Teresa’s home.
Plenty of choices.. we settled on a chocolate croissant, an apple and a mango to have for breakfast.
Later in the morning we took a short outing on our bikes to pick up some provisions, passing through the Riverside Garden District.
At 11:11 we were in a well stocked wine shop.
Tim totally enjoyed the outdoor shower at Teresa’s place.
Today’s “Bud influence” was hooking us up with his friend Captain Holly. We made plans to meet her in the afternoon for a sun set sail. Starting early in the afternoon we strolled almost 5 miles to the meet-up location … and we enjoyed every bit of it. It took us past the poke shop where we shared a poke bowl. We crossed the causeway and checked out a bunch of ocean side shops.
The sand at New Smyrna Beach is so incredibly fine and clean. We were shocked that we really did not sink into the sand like we are used to. The beaches were filled with people (and lots of cars parked on the beach) enjoying the perfect mild day.
After the 40 minute stroll in the lapping waves we were almost to the meet up spot. Captain Holly picked us up in a dingy and off we went to her 38 foot sailboat. We got on board, checked out the quarters and of course saw more of Bud’s handiwork. After motoring out the Ponce de Leon Inlet, past the lighthouse and breakers, we helped Holly pull out and put up the front sail.
While sailing the clouds began to gather and the once clear sky began to look a bit threatening.
The threatening sky made for a beautiful sunset. Once back on land we devoured a delicious meal and shared some fun and crazy stories. I’m certain we will run into adventurous Holly again.
So glad you made the sailing trip with Holly. Looks like you had a great experience in New Smyrna Beach. So happy for you🥰
ReplyDeleteWe’re having a great time at the music festival. See you soon,
